I found yoga and meditation when I was suffering with my mental health (panic attacks and anxiety). Now I want to share yoga and meditation with everybody. I became a certified 100 hour Modern Meditation teacher in 2020; trained with Mick Timpson, Accredited and Approved Yoga Alliance Professionals Coach. In June 2023 I became a certified 200 hour yoga teacher with Yoga Campus. In January 2024 I completed my 40 hour prenatal yoga training with Birthlight and I am now offering pregnancy yoga classes! opentotheflow was born out of the idea of accepting what is and being in the flow of things. Whatever you resist, persists...

My story is not too different from many people who find yoga and meditation. I have struggled with panic attacks and anxiety before I even knew they were a thing. In 2019 I suffered the most I had ever experienced. I was high functioning - unhealthily - non stop doing to avoid how I was really feeling. (Resisting feelings does make them stronger!) When I reached a moment in the day when I wasn't consumed in doing I would notice the panic. If I were in a busy place I would need to go home. So I started avoiding places because of fear of panic attacks... I decided I was ready to change.

I had £100 company perk voucher to spend on classes or a course of my choice. As I love free stuff it didn't take me long to spend that money. I found a six week 'Yoga for Self Transformation' at The Life Centre with Mick Timpson - yes, hoping to be transformed. In my first class we practiced a yoga nidra. I had a panic attack practicing a yoga nidra (guided meditation lying down). I sat outside the class until I stopped feeling dizzy and then I went back in.

A few years later and I'm a qualified Modern Meditation Teacher and a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Diploma graduate with Yoga Campus. Becoming pregnant on my yoga teacher training course I have practiced yoga safe and supportive for pregnancy throughout and really experienced and embodied the benefits. Therefore I decided to continue my yoga study in prenatal yoga training and completed in January 2024.

I feel like my story isn't so different to lots of people's struggles and suffering. I am here to share my experience and offer yoga, meditation and wellbeing guidance with others. I want to empower people to know they can change, from the inside out. We can reconnect to our human being.
